This year VFringe is 9-14 August. If you’re lucky enough to be staying in Ventnor during this time it’s definitely worth making sure you check out at least one of the activities. If you’re on holiday with kids, be prepared to take part in the fancy dress competition and parade, it’s enormous fun and has prizes for every conceivable age group and group size. Winners are invited to join the main carnival procession in the evening.
The Undecided Art Collective host a great exhibition curated by the amazing Rachael Berry. The theme last year was ‘undecided on dreams’ and it was an exciting, eclectic mix of affordable art and visitor interaction, with children encouraged to create their own dreamscapes.
This is a decidedly adult event as well with bars popping up in the Observatory on the seafront, where you can enjoy a glass of prosecco (or two) in a double sun lounger whilst listening to tunes played by the resident DJ. Secret venues abound hosting film, theatre, comedy and music events to make up a packed programme for the whole week.
